Bighorn Mountain Maine Coons offers family-raised Maine Coon kittens with a focus on temperament, early socialization, and thoughtful placement. Our kittens are raised in our home and introduced to everyday sights, sounds, and handling from the very beginning.

How Availability Works

Our litters are planned well in advance and raised in small numbers to ensure each kitten receives individualized care.

Reaching out early allows us to share upcoming timelines, answer questions, and help families understand what to expect as plans develop.


Each kitten is raised in our home with close attention to health, development, and socialization prior to placement.

Expected Colors, Patterns & Paw Types

Our Maine Coon kittens are produced through carefully planned pairings with a focus on health, temperament, and breed quality. While each litter is unique, families can expect a beautiful variety of classic Maine Coon colors and patterns over time.

Colors & Patterns We Produce

Kittens may be born in the following colors and combinations:


  • Black
  • Red
  • Cream
  • Blue
  • Black Smoke
  • Blue Smoke
  • Blue Silver
  • Black Tabby
  • Tortoiseshell (Tortie)
  • Torbie (Tortoiseshell Tabby)


Some kittens may also display white markings or bi-color patterns depending on the pairing.

Paw Types

We proudly offer both:

  • Standard-paw Maine Coons
  • Polydactyl Maine Coons (extra toes)


Additional Breeding Notes

  • Our program includes one DBE (Dominant Blue Eye) queen
  • Coat color, pattern, and paw type are never prioritized over health or temperament
  • Availability varies by litter and is discussed individually with families


Because our program is intentionally small, exact colors and traits cannot be guaranteed. We believe the best match is based on personality, lifestyle, and long-term compatibility — not appearance alone.

Currently Available Kittens

We begin sharing individual Maine Coon kitten photos and videos on our Facebook page when kittens reach approximately 5–7 weeks of age, once their personalities start to emerge and they are ready to be safely photographed and handled more. 


Families can follow along as their kitten grows through weekly updates, playful milestones, and personality development. 


When a kitten becomes available for reservation, their full profile, photos, and details will be posted here on our website as well as on our Facebook page.

Priority Reservation & Thoughtful Placement

Our priority reservation process allows us to plan responsibly and connect with families early in the process. By getting to know each household ahead of time, we’re able to place kittens thoughtfully based on timing, temperament, and overall compatibility.


Because our breeding program is intentionally small, availability is limited. When a kitten becomes available outside of priority reservations, details are shared here and placement is discussed directly with interested families.

We plan our Maine Coon litters carefully and well in advance, with a strong focus on health, temperament, and long-term placement success. As plans develop, we share upcoming litter announcements and general timelines with families who reach out early.


We also post regular updates and litter announcements on our Facebook page, where families can follow along with planned pairings, pregnancy updates, and kitten milestones as they happen.

What’s Included With Your Kitten

Every Bighorn Mountain Maine Coon kitten is raised in our home with daily handling and early exposure to family life. Families receive:


  • Age-appropriate veterinary care prior to go-home
  • Ongoing socialization and temperament observation
  • Guidance for a smooth transition home
  • Continued breeder support


In addition, each kitten goes home with a take-home starter pack to help them feel safe, comfortable, and confident in their new home:


  • Harness and leash for safe exploration
  • Brush suited for Maine Coon coats
  • Toys for play and enrichment
  • Scent blanket with familiar smells from mom and littermates
  • Dry food your kitten is currently eating
  • One soft food for variety and easy meals


These items are selected to make your kitten’s first days at home calm, familiar, and stress-free.

Spay / Neuter & Breeding Rights Policy

At Bighorn Mountain Maine Coons, we follow a strict spay/neuter and no-declaw policy to protect the long-term health and well-being of our kittens and the breed as a whole. We partner with SpaySecure to ensure every pet kitten is altered safely and responsibly at the appropriate time.


All pet kittens are placed under a spay/neuter agreement. Breeding rights are not included and are granted only on rare, pre-approved occasions at our sole discretion.


We do not offer breeding rights by default, and the majority of our kittens are placed as cherished companions.


We also maintain a strict no-declaw policy. Declawing is harmful and irreversible, and we do not support or permit it under any circumstances.


These policies are in place to support ethical ownership, responsible placement, and the long-term welfare of every kitten we raise.
